Beautiful example of a 1923 Baldwin built Mikado sitting with a head of steam and a loaded tender full of coal. Specifics - class O-1A, 64" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 27x30" cylinders, engine weight of 316,780, tractive effort of 58,092 lb. Photographer is unknown but it was part of the Robert Brendel collection.

Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 2-8-2 Class O-1-A 4997 at Centralia, Illinojs on an unknown day in August 1957, photographer unknown, print by Gordon C. Bassett, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 4997 was built by Baldwin in October 1923 (c/n 57246) anm sold for scrap in June 1961.
