At this point in its life, Soo 4-6-0 #2610 was found sitting in a storage/scrap line. Built by Brooks in May of 1891 before Brooks joined the ALCO group, the loco was originallly WC #212 . It was renumbered in 1909 to WC #2610 but sometime later carried the Soo Line logo. Some discrepancy as to its final scrapping date. The Brooks records show it off the roster by 1934, www.steamlocomotive.com lists it being cut up in October of 1927 but this photo has the date listed as 5/25/1931 and is still whole at this time. .Specs - serial #1888, class E-21, 180 psi boiler pressure, 63" drivers, 19x24" cylinders, modest engine wt of 129,150 lb and modest tractive effort of 21,040 lb.
