Here is an original photo by Douglas C. Jones that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1485, a B-6SB (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata during March of 1916 and retired in August of 1957 after 41 years of faithful service. Partially visible at the far left is one of the PRR's Passenger Car Shops; at the far right, another "Decapod" is on the move. Photo taken just East of the 4th Street Footbridge. |
