Here is the third of three successive original photos by John Bowman, Jr., that were taken during a railfan excursion on 29 September 1940. Shown here (F to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #4713 and #1960. Both are G-5S (4-6-0) "Ten-Wheeler's" built in Juniata. #5713 was built in September of 1924 and retired in March of 1950, while #1960 was built in October of 1923 and retired in October of 1951. According to Mr. Roger Radbill, this photo was taken at "at ROCK where the Octoraro meets the C & PD." Roy Healey Collection; #8 of 12. |
